This year my favorite art medium is oil painting. This is my first time working with oil however it wasn’t as hard for the reason that I’ve had experience with acrylics. The way I blend is especially similar to acrylic however blending is definitely easier with oil which is one reason I love oil, the second being that it doesn’t dry as fast, which allows me to have enough time to go back and fix my mistakes.
I live in LA with my mother, sister, and father who travels for work. My family is very artistic, both my mother and I love doing creative works while my sister and father focus on instrumental music. I’ve developed artistry through inspiration from my mother who always took part in making costumes, helping out with projects, decorating baked goods, etc.
The main reason I was interested in OCSA was through my sister, she goes to OCSA for Strings and Orchestra. I’ve visited OCSA every time we went to pick up my sister and at first what stood out to me was the unique architecture, however I was heavily intrigued by the art students painting landscapes across the street.
