My name is Maille Huang-Ogata. My most favorite art medium at the moment is digital art on my iPad. I love this medium the most because of how versatile it is and its ability to express itself in a variety of textures and styles, from flat, colorful cartoons to a painterly, textured portrait. I also enjoy its efficiency and the lack of need to constantly restock on equipment and supplies, since everything you need is in the tablet and software! Along with creating art, I also enjoy trying new food, reading, talking with my friends, and sleeping. I have an older brother who enjoys engaging in STEM and a puppy named Momo (which is “peach” in Japanese). When I was little, I would constantly stay on my desk and draw as much as I could of whatever I wanted. Various forms of media like movies, cartoons, comics, and manga had a huge influence on me and were the driving force of my artistic passions.
When I heard of OCSA and the opportunities it offered for students passionate in visual arts, I immediately took interest, and am happy to be surrounded by talented friends, like-minded peers, and brilliant staff members.
I am currently interested in pursuing art in college and as a future career. As of now, I have been thinking in pursuing illustration as a career.
