My name is Lauren Kim. This year, my favorite art medium was 3D Art and I was able to do 3D Art through my jewelry class. 3D Art is my favorite art form right now because it is different than the traditional art I am used to. I am able to design objects and create art where I am able to think about the whole form as opposed to one 2D platform. I also find it more exciting because I am able to create personal products, such as earrings and brooches from jewelry class. I live in Fullerton with my parents and younger sister and have lived in the same house since I was born. My younger sister is also in the Visual Arts Conservatory and is an 8th grader at OCSA. When I am not doing art, I enjoy baking with my family and hanging out with my friends to pass time, especially during this year.
I wanted to be a student at OCSA because I wanted to go to a school that will further advance my interest in Visual Arts. I think I am fortunate to attend a school that can support my passion and provide students the ability to be surrounded by a creative community. Also, I saw attending OCSA as an advantage in helping me find out what I want to pursue in the future through the classes and teachers OCSA has.
I do want to pursue art in college because I can imagine myself being in an artistic community similar to that of OCSA. However, I am not fully sure what art career I want to pursue and am figuring out what I want to major in through taking different classes looking at different artists.
