Ziyao Su

I immigrated from China with my parents when I was 10. In addition to my cultures, I also stand at the intersection of my artistic, engineering, and entrepreneurial identities, so every one of my pieces is a study of perspective and balance, a journey between the extremities.

My works are mainly digital, for I treasure the medium’s versatility, spontaneity, modernity, and tolerance, but I am also attracted to tangible mediums such as wires and clay for their physical symbolism.

My future plans…
I will be double majoring in management and computer science in college, but I am nowhere close to giving up my art! I hope to continue drawing digitally with my trusty iPad, but also combine technology and art in emerging mediums such as virtual reality. I also hope to familiarize myself with my cultural art forms and continue inspiring others, especially the homeless and the elderly population, with an arts education.

My advice for my younger OCSA Classmates-
Be proactive, ask for help, and try everything once-- you never know where you'll end up! :)
