Talia Tam
Growing up, my parents had always encouraged me to explore my interests in the arts. As a child, I dabbled in piano, gymnastics, and figure skating. After finding that they weren't to my taste, I discovered martial arts and visual arts. Now, as a soon-to-be college freshman, I find that these two hobbies have defined over half of my life.
I first went to an art studio when I was four years old, and was immediately enamored with the world of visual arts. Attending OCSA has allowed me to explore more mediums, such as ceramics and metals. I found that I prefer to work with 3D mediums; at the moment, my favorite medium is metals. I enjoy the process of planning out how to make a certain piece from metal, and using my finished product in daily life.
My future plans…
Although I plan to become a doctor, I hope that I will be able to continue my interests in metalworking. I do not plan on having a career in visual arts, but I do want to create pieces for my own enjoyment and use.
