My dad was an artist and an advertising art director, so I grew up around art. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. Since I've been doing art my whole life, my expression has been through a ton of changes over the years.
My art is kind of all over the place, I like to think of it as some type of weird ever-growing and changing amalgam. It varies a lot in concept, style, theme etc. I don't want to limit myself to just one thing, so I try to do a bit of everything. This is sometimes to my own detriment, though, because there's little cohesion between pieces. I think my art will take on a more consistent form when I get more comfortable with myself and my life. My biggest artistic inspiration is Grimes, but I'm inspired by all sorts of other things: aliens, angels, 90s and 2000s culture, goth rock, anime, editorial fashion, movies, wizards, etc.
Currently, I'm really obsessed with posca pens and graphic art, but I want to expand my horizons and start doing more with digital.
My future plans… I'm not quite sure where I'm headed. Lots of things are uncertain and up in the air right now, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. I think I'm gonna take a semester off to decompress and process the past year and then apply to some art colleges. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My advice for my younger OCSA Classmates-
Participate in school events, use every opportunity you get to showcase your art, and do something creative every day. Seriously. I wish someone told me those things when I was a freshman, I didn't do much and I really regret it.
